Important Information
Homework is to be completed the night it is assigned unless noted otherwise. Students are responsible for completing their assigned work, and all assignments should be written by the students in their student planner at the time they are assigned. Student planners are to be signed by a parent/guardian each night. Late/missing homework may result in deducted points or a lower overall grade.
No work will be accepted if it is a week past the due date. However, they will only get half credit for the assignment.
Homework allows children to show their teacher their independent abilities and understanding of a particular concept. The Archdiocesan Curriculum Guidelines suggest that students in fourth grade should spend an average of 60 minutes per night on homework. This includes any written homework as well as any studying that may need to be done.
PARENT HOMEWORK TO DO
We ask that a parent sign/initial the Homework Assignment book on a daily basis.WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN"T COMPLETE A HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT?If a student does not complete a homework assignment the following will occur:
~MY CHILD WAS SICK~If your child was ill, and thus unable to complete work the prior night, please send in a note explaining and your child will have an extra night to complete the assignment.
~LOSS OF HOMEWORK POINTS~It is important to note that the students need to begin working towards gaining more independence at this age and learn to take responsibility to get their work done. To help them feel accountable and hopefully feel motivated to keep this grade up, they will receive an overall homework grade for each trimester.
~COMPLETION OF HOMEWORK~
If your child has not done their homework for any given day, they will need to complete it the day/night that follows the missed homework day. -
