Activities to Do Together with Your Child at Home: Vocabulary Use this week's Target Vocabulary in a mistake game. Say each word and give a definition--sometimes the right one, sometimes one that's completely wrong! Have your child identify the incorrect definitions and give the correct word meaning.
Oops! Talk with your child about making mistakes. Tell about a time you made a mistake and learned from it. Then have your child tell about a time when he or she made a mistake. Talk about the lesson your child learned from that mistake.
Live and Learn Have your child write an outline for a fictional story about someone who makes a mistake and learns from it. Help your child plan a story beginning, middle, and end.
